YWPDK has helped me create and expand my network both nationally and internationally. Network is important to face the challenges of the future.

YWP unites young water professionals from different fields, and with diverse professional and cultural backgrounds. Being part of this network made me look at things from different perspectives – both work-related and private. And the network is big: now, there are always familiar faces at every water-related event in Denmark

YWPDK brings value to the Danish water sector in many different areas. Regarding the water utilities I should like to highlight two elements: Enhancing recruitment for the water sector: If the water sector is to deliver on the various challenges ahead of us we need highly qualified young people who are not only willing to work with water and environment but can also see a career for themselves within utilities. YWPDK provides role models and demonstrates that this is also a very interesting field to work within. Providing networks across the sector: Holistic approaches across traditional sectors are important to develop solutions for the future. Knowing and understanding water sector colleagues with different backgrounds is an important step in that direction and YWPDK creates a strong network, which ensures that i.e. water utility staff and researchers know each other from the start of their career and can engage in research and innovation projects together.
